The leaves of the plant have been found to contain important components such as peptides, cyclopeptide alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, betulinic acid, and triterpenoid saponin glycosides, which encourage healthy skin tissue and hair.
Thuja Plicata is an evergreen member of the cypress family, native to Korea and parts of China. One of its most popular uses is as an ingredient in formulas that promote hair growth. In studies, it has produced impressive results in this category, on par with a number of modern remedies. By supporting the anagen growth phase for the hair, it can be an effective ingredient for jumpstarting active production and reversing the effects of hair loss or thinning.

After an 8-week clinical trial, a considerable improvement in hair density, growth rate, and thickness was observed. Compared to baseline, follicular hair density increased by 1.5 times, while hair thickness improved by a 2.5 times increase in the diameter of the hair shaft.
